DU ended a 6-game skid and kept their WHAC Playoff hopes alive with a convincing 3-0 win at Madonna on Wednesday night. The win lifts DU to 6-9-0 on the year and into 4th place in the conference standings with two games remaining.

The last few weeks have been tough for the DU Men's Soccer team after losing a few key players to injury but the hopes remain strong as they won today 3-0 at Madonna to keep their playoff options open.

After a scoreless first half that saw each team create about the same number of chances, DU finally got on the board in the 69th minute when Gerard John-Williams (Trinidad & Tobago) scored on a pass from Aaron Lee (Grand Rapids, Mich.).

The Panthers would then add to the lead on Lee's first of the season and first of his career. Duvare Minto (St. Mary, Jamaica) got the credit with the assist.

DU rounded out the scoring when Alex Boehm (Stevensville, Mich.) scored his team leading 8th goal of the year at the 75:33 mark on a pass from Ricco Mulero (Grand Rapids, Mich.)

Kevin O'Brien (Ireland) and James Gilpin (Newcastle, UK) combined for the shutout with Gilpin collecting three saves and O'Brien one.

The win lifts DU to 4th place in the WHAC standings with two matches remaining. The Panthers control their own destiny to make the 4-team tournament and will host Siena Heights on Saturday after the women's game which is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
