Gerard John-Williams has been a major part of the late success of the Men's Soccer Team and he was honored today by the WHAC as the Offensive Player of the Week. John-Williams scored two goals in consecutive wins over Madonna and Siena Heights last week.
After struggling midway through the 2009 season, the Davenport men's soccer team has slowly started to put it back together and sophomore Gerard John-Williams has been a major help.
The 6'2 midfielder from Triniad & Tobago, scored a goal in each of DU's victories last week and the two wins helped DU clinch a berth in the WHAC Tournament for the 5th straight season.
John-Williams scored the first of three goals in a 3-0 road victory at Madonna on Wednesday and then scored one of two goals in a 2-0 win against Siena Heights at home on Saturday.
Davenport, the 4th seed in the upcoming WHAC Tourney, will take on Aquinas on the road on Saturday, November 7. The time for the game has not been released by the conference as of this article.
