Tesho Akindele, Manville Strand and Chike Sullivan earned First Team honors. Baski Baker, Chris Bostic, Jacob Juett and Alex Nass were all named to the Second Team.
Akindele, a freshman forward from Thornton, Colo. (Northglenn H.S.), was the RMAC Freshman of the Year. A unanimous First Team All-RMAC selection, Akindele currently leads the RMAC in goals (19), points (45) and game-winning goals (tied – 5). He recorded three consecutive hat tricks this season becoming the first men's soccer player to accomplish that feat in the RMAC. His 19 goals established a new single-season program record. Among Division II players, Akindele ranks third in total goals and fourth in total points.
Strand, a sophomore goalkeeper from Las Vegas, Nev., (Spring Valley H.S.), garnered Second Team All-RMAC honors for the second consecutive season. One of the top goalkeepers in the RMAC this season, Strand leads the conference in goals against average (0.64), save percentage (.819) and ranks second in shutouts (8). Strand ranks sixth in Division II among goalkeepers in goals against average.
Sullivan, a junior midfielder from San Juan, Trinidad & Tobago (St. George's College), was a unanimous First Team All-RMAC selection for a second consecutive season. Sullivan currently leads the RMAC in assists (11). A Pre-Season All-RMAC selection, Sullivan ranks fourth in the RMAC in points (33) and fifth in goals (11). Among Division II players, Sullivan ranks sixth in total assists.
Senior defenders Juett (Flower Mound, Texas / St. Edward's Univ.) and Bostic (Erie, Colo. / Peak to Peak H.S.) helped anchor the CSM defense this season. Juett earned Second Team All-RMAC honors scoring two goals. Bostic was the only Mines defender who started all 21 matches this season. Mines' defense allowed just 14 goals this season, the fewest in the RMAC while leading the conference in goals against average (0.65) and shutouts (12). Among team in DII, the Orediggers rank fourth in shutout percentage (0.57) and seventh in goals against average.
Baker, a freshman forward from Socorro, N.M. (Socorro H.S.), earned Third Team All-RMAC honors. Baker currently leads the RMAC in game-winning goals (tied – 5), ranks fourth in goals (13) and fifth in points (32).
Nass, a sophomore midfielder from Piracicaba, São Paulo, Brazil (Poudre H.S.), garnered Second Team All-RMAC honors. Nass finished the season with four goals and seven assists which ranks fifth in the RMAC.
The team is voted on by sports information directors from the Central Region.
The third-ranked Orediggers finished the 2010 season with an overall record of 17-2-2. Mines made its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, third in program history, and won its first-ever NCAA Tournament game against Regis University (5-1). CSM also claimed both the RMAC regular-season and tournament titles.
