The Lindenwood men's soccer team beat old conference foe, William Jewell, 2-1 on Wednesday night in Liberty, Mo.

In the opening half, both teams were unable to dent the scoreboard and the game headed into the half tied at zero.

Finally, in the 55th minute, Franz Husbands scored to give the Lions the lead. Just 14 minutes later, Husbands struck again to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

William Jewell cut into the lead in the 82nd minute but could not get the equalizer. Franc Sanz started in the net for Lindenwood and got the win.

With the victory, the Lions improve to 2-5 on the year. Up next for Lindenwood is a road game against Christian Brothers University on September 23.
