In the second consecutive match, goalkeeper Adrian Foncette was able to anchor UAlbany's defense to a scoreless tie against Binghamton on Saturday, Oct. 15. UAlbany plays non-conference Lehigh from the Patriot League on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7pm.
Both teams began the match shooting on net early as Binghamton's Tommy Moon was able to get the first shot in the second minute of the match but was denied by Foncette.
UAlbany (4-6-3, AE 0-1-3) came back with a quick shot on net from Pomare Te Anau in the 15th minute but that too was batted away by Chris Hayen.
Binghamton (4-8-1, AE 0-3-1) looked to put the game away in overtime with two potential offense chances on net but Foncette tallied his fifth and sixth saves in the game to preserve the scoreless tie.
With defense dictating the result of the match, both offenses were only able to total nine shots on net through the entire 110 minutes of play and accumulating only seven corners.
The Bearcat's Hayen recorded three saves for his first shutout of the season. The Great Dane's Foncette tallied six saves and his third shutout of the season.
