Caledonia AIA minus five influential players will begin its FA Trophy defense on Wednesday with a visit against Petit Valley at the Diego Martin Secondary Ground from 3:30pm in the Round of 32.

Densill Theobald, Ataullah Guerra, Aubrey David, Keyon Edwards and Jamal Gay are all currently in Antigua with the Trinidad and Tobago Men’s Senior Team which qualified for next year’s CONCACAF Gold Cup while advancing into the semi-final round of the Caribbean Cup on Friday.

Meantime back at home, although missing a huge chunk of his squad, Caledonia Head Coach Jerry Moe will definitely look pick things up following last month’s disappointing quarter-final round exit in the Toyota Classic with a 6-5 penalty defeat against Stokely Vale after a 3-3 regulation time score.

Moe said that his squad is trimmed to somewhere around an 18-man squad inclusive of a few injuries.

Last season Caledonia defeated fellow Pro League club and archrivals Defence Force in the Final of the FA Trophy for its second title. Runners-up in 2007, Caledonia went on to win the 2008 title before taking it again in the 2011 edition.

Defence Force will also be in FA action with all Round of 32 matches to be played on Wednesday at various venues.

The Soldiers takes on QPCC from 5pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, followed by former winners North East Stars against Westside Superstarz from 7pm.

Recently crowned Toyota Classic winners North East Stars, winners of the FA Trophy in 2003, and runners-up in 2006 and 2010, defeated DIRECTV W Connection 2-1 in the First Round last Wednesday to advance into the Round of 32.

The Angus Eve coached outfit is still with central defensive duo Seon Power and Kareem Moses currently with the T&T squad in Antigua.

Meantime Pro League newcomers Central FC will have its first taste of the FA Trophy, the oldest football competition in Trinidad and Tobago which began in 1927 with Shamrock the inaugural winners.

Central FC minus first choice goalie Marvin Phillip, also in Antigua, will host Malabar FC from 6pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium and two hours earlier at Skinner Park, San Fernando, T&TEC FC welcomes Edingburgh 500.

While fellow Pro League clubs St. Ann’s Rangers and Police FC travels to Tobago for their opening FA matches.

Rangers are visitors to Stokely Vale from 5:30pm at the Plymouth Recreation Ground and Police FC takes on Roxborough Lakers from 6pm at the Goodwood Recreation Ground.
