National midfielder Kevin Molino scored on Saturday to help his Orlando City to a 2-2 draw with Major League Soccer club Toronto FC in the Disney Pro Soccer Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

Molino and John Rooney, brother of England striker Wayne Rooney, found the target as Orlando continued their preseason preparations.

Toronto controlled possession for much of the early part of the match before Rooney, brother of English soccer star Wayne Rooney, put the Lions on the scoreboard first on a penalty kick in the 17th minute.

Toronto responded when Miguel Aceval bounced a free kick off an Orlando City defender for a goal in the 23rd minute.

Molino’s follow-up goal off a deflection in the 54th minute put the Lions out front once again. Torsten Frings tied the score in the 62nd minute with a shot over the head of Orlando City keeper Miguel Gallardo.

“It feels good obviously, to get goal against Toronto and help Orlando to get the draw here tonight,” Molino said. “We are working really hard in preseason to ensure we have an even better season and defend our title.

I feel good at the moment and I’m just working on my fitness level and trying to develop my game all the time.” Molino will team up with the T&T Olympic team next month for the final round of CONCACAF Olympic qualifying action in Carson, California.

Saturday’s match was the first of three that Orlando City will play in pool play in the Disney classic. The Lions’ next match will be against MLS club FC Dallas on Tuesday night.
