CREWE boss Dario Gradi hopes a new two-year deal will convince Clayton Ince to stay with the club.

The 32-year-old Trinidadian is one of five first-teamers to be offered fresh contracts along with Colin Murdock, Neil Sorvel, Adie Moses and Chris McCready.

Arguably the Alex's player-of-the year, Ince played a huge part in that amazing run at the turn of the year along with heroics during their dramatic escape from relegation.

Crewe fans will be delighted to see the number one stay although Gradi believes he could well attract offers from elsewhere as a free agent.

"He'll probably be the one with options," he explained.

"He's an international and could play anywhere in the world.

"Obviously we want to keep him here or we wouldn't have offered him a new deal.

"He regained the number one spot and credit to him.

"I don't know if we would have offered him a deal if we had gone down, maybe we still would have.

"I think we've made him a decent offer."
