Dundee United were handed a major boost in their build-up to Saturday’s crunch SPL clash at Inverness Caley Thistle, when striker Jason Scotland returned to training today.

Troubled by a knee ligament strain for the last month, Scotland missed a couple of sessions earlier this week because of a stiff neck.

This morning, though, the Trinidad international returned to work with the rest of the players and will be in the squad that leaves for the Highlands tomorrow afternoon.

“Jason was in getting more treatment when the other boys were off yesterday and he is going to be fine. That means we’ve only got Paul Ritchie and Lee Mair missing and it is good to have most of the players working together,” said interim boss Gordon Chisholm.
