Belgium-based midfielder Khaleem Hyland is satisfied with the manner in which his club KVC Westerlo has progressed after nine matches in the Belgium First Division. Westerlo are in 14th place on the 16-team table but are coming off a 2-1 victory over second placed Anderlecht last week.

Hyland provided the assist for the 85th minute winner by teammate Nicolas Rommens. Hyland’s former club Zulte-Waregem are currently top of the table with 20 points from their nine outings.

“Things have been going quite well for Westerlo in the past couple weeks. We are not in the top half of the table but we got a very big result against Anderlecht last week and the momentum is building within the team right now,” Hyland said.

“The league is very competitive and of course Westerlo will be doing its best to climb the table. The season is a bit young still but we will be doing everything possible to keep getting good results.

“For me it’s been good with the way we have been playing and my game personally. Hopefully I can keep this form and keep getting the quality playing time that will keep me in good shape for the qualifying games for the national team to follow in November,” Hyland said.
