SADDLERS' front-man, Hector Sam was quick to praise the role of the fans as we put in a fine performance against Premiership outfit, Bolton Wanderers in the Carling Cup. "The crowd were absolutely tremendous," he said. "I was feeling tired, but their non-stop backing and support kept me going.
"We were disappointed to lose the game. We worked extremely hard as a team and once we got the equaliser, I thought that we could go on and win.
"We battered them in the second half, but as the Premiership team they took their chances and that was the difference in the end.
"That said, we showed plenty of character and passion and if we can take that into our League matches, we have every reason to feel confident about what the future holds in store."
