Dwight Yorke is dreaming of a return to the Premiership with Sunderland - at the age of 35!

The Trinidad & Tobago star is desperate to lead Sunderland to promotion and end his glittering career in the top flight.

Yorke won the Treble with Manchester United in 1999, but left the Premiership 18 months ago when he joined Sydney FC.

But his former Old Trafford team-mate Roy Keane tempted him back to England when he took over at Sunderland, and now Yorke has his sights set on getting back in the big time.

He said: "It would be fantastic to get back into the Premiership and play at that level again.

"The chance to win promotion and play in the top flight again played a big part in my decision to come to Sunderland.

"Back in August, I took a look at the Championship table and it looked a bit bleak for Sunderland - but football is all about challenges, and the scenario is very different now.

"I spoke to the gaffer about the situation before I came here. It's not easy to turn things round, and I'm sure it will continue to be difficult, but the gaffer was convinced that he could get the club moving back in the right direction - and he's done that."
