Former Vibe CT 105 W Connection midfielder Aaron Downing netted on his debut for Belgium third division Club Royal Whitestar Woluwe in their 4-0 trashing over Walhain on Saturday.

The 19 year old Aaron along with 18 year old W Connection teammate Matthew Bartholomew played their first match in the Belgium Third Division League for Whitestar on Saturday with impressive performances.

The pair left Trinidad last Tuesday to join the Belgium Club on loan after signing a three year contract with English Premiership Club Sheffield United and played their first practice match on Thursday as both players were the only two to register goals in their team’s 2-0 win.

With the brilliant performance put on by both Trinidadians it was no doubt that the Whitstar coach started them on Saturday against Walhain in their League match.

With eight League matches remaining, WS Woluwe are not far from promotion to the Second Division as they currently sit on fourth position with 38 points just one behind UR Namur and trailing six points from leaders Olympic Charleroi.

The former W Connection teenagers Aaron Downing and Matthew Bartholomew are expected to feature again for WS Woluwe on Saturday against sixth placed Tongres in the Belgium Third Division League.

Owner of the TT Pro League Club David John Williams spoke to ‘ttproleague.com’ and was delighted on the performances by both Matthew and Aaron saying, “We are very delighted on the performances by both Aaron and Matthew. I spoke with the Chairman of Sheffield United on the player’s performances and he too was overjoyed on the news.”

“This showed that after only a week they have settled well with the Belgium Club and we can only expect better things to come from both players,” ended Williams.
