Wanderers have made their eleventh new signing of the summer with the news that impressive trialist Andre Boucaud has penned a one-year deal.
Boucaud has been with the Blues during their build-up to the new season and played a part in all the pre-season friendlies. The midfielder was a free agent after leaving Kettering Town at the end of last season.
Boucaud, 22, started his career at Reading and was tipped for a bright future, but he failed to break into the first team and was loaned out to Peterborough United. He was such a success at London Road that Posh boss Barry Fry signed him on a permanent basis.
The Enfield-born player - who is an international for Trinidad and Tobago - went on to make 25 appearances for Peterborough, most of them in League One, before his transfer to Kettering.
Blues boss Paul Lambert told wwfc.com: "I'm delighted to get Andre. He's been with us for a few weeks and he's done really well in training and in our pre-season games. He's only 22, but he plays older than his years and he's a gritty competitor who is also very good on the ball. I'm sure that our fans will like him."
Boucaud's arrival brings to an end - probably! - the most hectic summer of transfer activity in Wanderers Football League history. We could now field a brand new team of: Shearer; Obersteller, McCracken, Johnson, Woodman; Duncan, Holt, Boucaud, Williams; Bullock and Sutton.
Footnote: To clear up any confusion, Andre pronounces his surname "Boo-co".
