New striker Hector Sam is determined to hit the ground running once the 2007/08 season begins on August 11, and score the goals to make him a success at Meadow Lane.
The 29-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with the Club from 1 July 2007, and the former Wrexham, Port Vale and Walsall striker has admitted he will be putting in plenty of effort prior to pre-season to make sure he is up to speed.
He hit the net seven times last season as Walsall claimed the League Two title, and he made only five appearances the season before due to a broken leg so he is determined to prove his worth to Steve Thompson.
The striker said: "I want to get off to good start here as this is a fresh start for me, so I'll be working hard over the next few weeks before pre-season to make sure I am in good shape.
"I am eager to do well and score goals, but I know it is just as important to do well as a team and I will be happy to provide plenty of assists too if it means we get promoted."
Sam insists he isn't setting himself a target of goals, as he feels that adds pressure to himself, and he instead is firmly focused on making sure as a team Notts County are a success next season.
He said: "I won't set myself a target of goals this year, and I'll just firmly focus on making sure as a team we do well."
