DENNIS Lawrence reckons experience told him he would get another chance in a Crewe Alex shirt when Steve Holland was sacked.
But since Dario Gradi took control of first-team affairs after Holland was dismissed on November 18, the giant Trinidadian was out in the cold.
That was until Saturday’s win over Swindon when injury to Julien Baudet gave Lawrence his chance.
He said: “It was a massive change for me when Steve went but he probably did as much as he could do.
“When a new manager comes in, he has his own plans, but it is a squad game and everyone will be used eventually.
“I have got to the age when you see things in a different light and understand things a bit better. Everybody wants to play but I just had to wait.”
Lawrence’s loan agreement runs out in the New Year, but he revealed he has not discussed the future with either Crewe or Swansea.
For now, he will take each game as it comes and aims to do everything he can in the Alex’s plight for survival.
He added: “I have not spoke to anyone at Swansea about the end of the loan spell. You never know what can happen but I’m not thinking about that now.”
