AIRBUS UK Broughton have snapped up former Wrexham and Rhyl winger Josh Johnson on the eve of today’s long trip to Haverfordwest County.

Airbus manager Craig Harrison was yesterday awaiting international clearance to sign Johnson, who had spells with Rhyl and Druids after leaving the Racecourse in 2008.

“He will give us something different,” said Harrison, who expects Johnson to make his debut at Rhyl next Tuesday.

“We haven’t got any pacy wide men so Josh will be a good outlet for us and he’s a good crosser of the ball.”

Meanwhile, the Airmen will be without suspended defender Mark Allen for the journey to west Wales to take on one of their bogey sides.

The Airfield outfit have never won at Haverfordwest, losing four out of five there since joining the Welsh Premier, and their defeats have been by the margins of 6-1, 5-1, 4-0 and 3-0.

“We’ve got a different set of players now – a stronger squad,” stressed Harrison. “If we could get a win there it would be great. We will travel there quietly confident and are going there to win the game.

“We’ve not played a league game for a while, so it will be good to get the chance to play on the best pitch in the league.”
