Former National Team defender Dennis Lawrence is now an assistant coach with Wigan Athletic in the English Premier League.
After having a stint with the club in preseason earlier this year, Lawrence agreed to a contract having completed a successful trial period during which time he worked closely with club manager Roberto Martinez, the first team and the reserves.
According to agent Mike Berry, He has also successfully completed his B intensive coaching course and intends to pursue further badges and courses in due course.
"This is great news for Dennis and also Trinidad and Tobago and is just reward for his dedication and determination to become a top coach in the UK,” Berry said on Wednesday.
“Roberto is delighted with him and sees him now as an integral part of his coaching staff in training and also on Premiership matchdays and also reserve games.
It is a very important development in his career and one which he thoroughly deserves and his family and all of T&T should be proud of him.
"His involvement at such a senior level can only bode well for T&T football as he studies, works and learns under Roberto and his coaching team and progresses to establish himself in the coaching world at the highest level. He has come along way from Morvant to Wigan via Bahrain," Berry concluded.
The 36-year-old Lawrence was last contracted to Swansea City in the English Championship Division and also had a loan spell with Crewe Alexandra. He first joined Wrexham a Welsh-based professional club in 2001 moving from Defence Force.
He also made a brief appearance for San Juan Jabloteh earlier this year. Lawrence, most remembered as a player for his heroic goal against Bahrain which booked T&T’s place at the 2006 World Cup Finals, he made 89 appearances for his country.
