Striker Jason Scotland says the Blues shouldn’t expect an easy game on Saturday, despite Doncaster currently sitting at the bottom of the Championship. The former Trinidad and Tobago international looks set to start alongside Michael Chopra up front for Town.
Scotland said: “I think it’s the same old story in the Championship - they’re all difficult games. You have to go and be at your best on the day and if you’re not at your best you probably won’t get any points.
“I think we need to be at our best even though Doncaster are bottom of the table. We have to go and perform and try and get three points. If we’re not at our best, Doncaster can surprise us.”
Despite their lowly standing, the 32-year-old says the Blues need to be wary of the South Yorkshiremen with the table perhaps not yet telling the whole story: “They’re not a bad team, they are bottom of the table but it’s the early days of the Championship and results can go against you. But hopefully we can get the three points.
“We’re in November and we’re still on course. A couple more wins and we’d be back up there. We just have to take it a game at a time.
“We’ve had a kick in the teeth in the last couple of games and we’ve just got to try to steady the ship and recover some confidence and try and get three points on Saturday.
"Then it’s a long two weeks off, so three points would be ideal going into the international break.”
Scotland’s Town contract is up at the end of the season and he says his best approach to gaining an extension to his time at the club is just to play his normal game: “It’s up in the summer but I just want to concentrate on my football and do well for the club and see what happens.
“As long as I’m doing well, playing football, scoring goals and helping the team, everything will take care of itself.”
