Adam’s Construction San Juan Jabloteh completed another 2-0 Digicel Pro League Championship 2011-12 season victory against bitter rivals W Connection on Friday night to tie things up at the top of the ladder.

It was the second League win against the ‘Savonnetta Boys’, with the other a 2-0 result in Round One.

This time around, two fines first half saves from goalkeeper and captain Cleon John, and an unconquerable performance by defender Karlon Murray were polished off by second half headed strikes by Marvin Oliver and Willis Plaza saw the Earl Carter coached outfit take full points, joining T&TEC FC and Connection all with 15 points at the top.

T&TEC jumped to the top following a 1-1 draw against St. Ann’s Rangers in the first match of a Super Friday double header at the Larry Gomes Stadium, while Connection slipped two spots down because of a lesser goals difference following its defeat in the second match while Jabloteh moved up a spot into second.

Jabloteh broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when Oliver completed a silky header past goalkeeper Jan Michael Williams off a perfectly placed Elton John cross from the right.

And in the 64th minute Plaza gave Jabloteh a 2-0 cushion heading past Williams when he towered the Connection defense to meet Marcano’s left side freekick after winger Kennedy Hinkson was fouled by Kern Cupid.

In the 93rd minute former Jabloteh player Jerrel Britto had a one on one with goalkeeper Cleon John but surprisingly slipped the ball wide for onrushing substitute Keon Quow who was a bit too late, instead of shooting at goal himself.

Britto also had the first real chance of the game, again one on one with John in the 28th minute but was denied by a superb save by the Jabloteh number one.

Britto wasn’t the only Connection to fail in front of goal, with Matthew Bartholomew crashed an effort onto the crossbar in the 31st minute and in the 44th wingback Joevin Jones’ powerful blast on goal was cleared away by goalkeeper John.

Connection’s finishing wasn’t the only problem as the absence of Hughton Hector and most recently Shahdon Winchester currently with Vietnamese club Song Lam Nghe An has left the club with a massive void to fill.

Round Two Match Day Four fixtures continues on Saturday with Police FC against Caledonia AIA at the Ato Boldon Stadium and Defence Force against DIRECTV North East Stars at the Larry Gomes Stadium both set for 5pm kickoff times.
