CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and Caledonia AIA/Fire both had to settle for a point each, as both teams failed to put away their chances and battled to a goalless draw at the Ato Boldon Stadium in the 2005 Pro League season opener.

The two teams only have themselves to blame as the game provided end-to-end action with chances galore—but at the end neither goal keeper was beaten.

The man of the match was Jabloteh’s newly signed defender Charles Pollard, who played a huge role in defence and kept Caledonia Fire’s strikers at bay.

On the half hour Mark Devon Modeste of Caledonia had an excellent
opportunity to send the Fire into the lead as he found himself with only the keeper to beat, but Jabloteh’s custodian Durance Williams pulled off a
crucial save.

In the 2nd half Jabloteh picked up the pace—new Jamaican born striker
Nicholas Adderly had a wonderful opportunity and shot wide and then in the 70th minute national striker Nigel Pierre forced Caledonia’s keeper to push out a volley from 15 yards out.

Nevertheless when the final whistle was blown nil-nil was the final score.
