Police FC for a second time this season snatched maximum points against T&TEC with a 2-0 win on Friday night in Round Two Match Day One of the Digicel Pro League.
Second half goals by Jameel Perry and Anton Hutchinson saw T&TEC suffer the same score-line conceded in Round One Match Day One against the Lawmen back in September.
The Richard Hood-coached Police, now with an improved 9 points, remained fifth position on the standings and behind fourth positioned DIRECTV W Connection by a lesser goals difference.
Connection will take on sixth positioned Central FC on Saturday from 6pm at the Ato Boldon Stadium followed third positioned North East Stars against second positioned Caledonia AIA from 8pm.
Perry made his single opening of the match count in the 51st minute when he bundled the ball over the line to hand Police a 1-0 advantage following a goalless first half.
And in the 80th minute from a well placed Trent Noel freekick, Hutchinson headed past goalkeeper Akini Adams for the 2-0 scoreline as T&TEC later suffered its seventh defeat in eight League matches.
Adams failing to copy a superb reflect save he made nine minutes into the match to glove away a decent Dexter Alleyne strike.
While his teammate Tigana Sparks was guilty of squandering two opportunities, one on either side of the half, and his side remaining at the bottom of the table with just 3 points.
Sparks had a breakaway in the 18th minute but only found the side netting from inside the area and Police left-back Akiba Peters winning credit for doing just enough to put the T&TEC attacker off.
Peters also showed his offensive ability forcing a low save out of Adams in the 27th minute.
Sparks then had his second opportunity two minutes in to the second period following a slip up by Police defender Karlon Murray who made an excellent recovery to deny the T&TEC player an item inches before the goal-line.
But Sparks wasn't the only player that exited the pitch with a pair of failed chances on his mind.
Despite later celebrating his team's 2-0 win, Police winger Alleyne had two misses wide before the half. Alleyne first headed wide from a cross by Peters from the left and in the 43rd minute he guided a Javon Morris cross from the right overbar.
