Central F.C. are partnering with Port of Spain’s premier coaching school, the Football Factory, to offer youngsters in the Central region the chance to attend a local top quality football programme.

The Central F.C. Football Factory will be based at Presentation College, Chaguanas and will be launched with an Easter camp commencing Tuesday 2nd April.

“One of our key aims as a community club is to offer a top quality coaching school located in the Central region” said Central F.C. Managing Director, Brent Sancho. “Aside from offering a chance for youngsters to have fun in a safe, supervised environment, it also is the first step for talented footballers on the path to professional football.”

Sancho said that talented players will be brought into the Sharks youth team structure. “It’s a progression through the youth teams to our reserves and finally to the first team” said Sancho. “But for children, football should initially be about having fun, so the coaching school, while developing skills, will also encourage those with less ability to enjoy the game.”

The Football Factory in Port of Spain has developed a proud reputation as a professional, well organised coaching school and is looking to expand the brand across the country. One of the founders, Terry Fenwick, is also Head Coach of Central F.C.

“Once we began to work on a coaching school for Central F.C., it was natural to use the same structural organisation as the Football Factory.” Said Fenwick “It then became obvious that the best way to deliver the same quality of coaching that is delivered in Port of Spain was to combine the Football Factory and Central F.C. brands.”

Registration for the Easter camp will commence on Tuesday 2nd April at 8.30 p.m. The camp will run from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. on Tuesday the 2nd April until Friday April 5th and Monday 8th April to Friday April 12th.

Cost is only $20 per day with a special offer package of 9 days for $150 plus 2 free tickets for Central F.C. vs Caledonia and 2 free sessions at the Central F.C. Football Factory which will become a weekly coaching school. Children from the age of 6 upwards are welcome and need to walk with a packed lunch.

“Aside from giving children a safe environment to have fun and improve their football skills, the coaching school will also help us identify players for the future for Central F.C.” said Fenwick “I have been amazed by the talent in Central, which I believe has not been fully recognised until now”

Sponsors of the Central F.C. Football Factory include Burger King, Gatorade and Port Lisas based construction company, S.I.S.

“We’re grateful to our sponsors, who fully support our policy of investing in young people to help enhance the community” said Fenwick.

Fenwick said that the club have already uncovered some very talented schoolboys and the club expect to see several youngsters visit clubs in the U.K. over the next few months.

“We’re very excited about the development of Central F.C. as it approaches its first anniversary” said Sancho. “It’s been a tough year and we’ve had to learn fast, but we’re happy with our progress. Of course, we’ve made mistakes, but we know that teams don’t take us for granted.

We have two cup competitions remaining and we feel we have a great chance of winning a trophy in our inaugural season.”
