ANDRE TOUSSAINT scored on either side of the half, as VIBE CT 105 W Connection rolled over Defence Force 4-0, to maintain its lead in the T&T Professional Football League Senior Division.
The one-month break in play due to T&T’s involvement in the Concacaf Gold Cup in the USA, did not affect the sharpness of the “Savonetta Boys,” who took the lead through Brazilian Gefferson Goulart in the eight minute at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, on Saturday night.
Toussaint made it 2-0 three minutes later, which the Reynold Carrington coached club took into the interval.
Earl Jean made it 3-0 in the 60th minute and Toussaint got his double in the 68th minute to join team-mates Jean, captain, and Goulart as the league’s top scorers with nine goals each.
Earlier on Saturday, second placed CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh won its sixth straight match in the league and Bowl competition, beating United Petrotrin at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.
National midfielder Aurtis Whitley (21st), Nigel Codrington (39th), Kerry Noray (79th) scored for Jabloteh, who now has 17 points with two matches in hand.
Titus Elva and Abdullah Phillip got the goals as Caledonia AIA/Fire beat defending champions National Quarries North-East Stars 2-0 on the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground.
Elva opened the scoring in the 37th minute and Phillip followed in the 60th minute. AIA/Fire now has 15 points from nine matches.
