Army stops Jabloteh to maintain 9-point lead

The San Juan Jabloteh men may have on­ly them­selves to blame for sur­ren­der­ing max­i­mum points. They pulled a goal back in the 76th minute from Justin Arau­jo-Wil­son, but it was the own goal that came un­for­tu­nate­ly from Ma­lik Mieres that cost them dear­ly.

The win for the De­fence Force means they have now moved to 38 points to main­tain their nine-point lead on their clos­est ri­vals Ter­minix La Hor­quet­ta Rangers on 29 points.

In an­oth­er game Mor­vant Cale­do­nia Unit­ed se­cured third with 24 points by de­feat­ing Cen­tral FC 3-1 in the sec­ond match of a dou­ble­head­er. How­ev­er, it was the Cen­tral men who took the ad­van­tage with a 35th-minute Sean Bon­val's strike.

There­after, Tev Lawrence equal­ized for the Mor­vant men in the 48th, while Joshua Alexan­der's 53rd and Mu­lik Duke's 93rd-minute item sealed the win.

Mean­while, Point Fortin Civic and Tiger Tank Club San­do shared the points in a 1-1 tie at the Ma­haica Oval. Point Fortin may have ben­e­fit­ted more from the re­sult, mov­ing to the fifth po­si­tion on the stand­ings with 22 points. Ronell Paul gave his team the lead in the 64th minute. The home team got a late equal­iz­er in the 90+3 minute from Michael Bas­deo.
