After five matches without finding the back of the net, Superstar Rangers striker Errol Mc Farlane jr. hit a welcomed hattrick, as he helped his side to all three points against Police FC.

Having been knocked off the top of the goalscoring table by Jabloteh’s Antiguan striker Peter Byers during mid-week action, the Trinidad and Tobago marksman responded in emphatic fashion to take back the top spot, which he has occupied for the entire season.

Mc Farlane is just happy to be back amongst the goals, and told ttproleague.com, "To be scoring again is just great, I am relieved, because as a striker when you fall into a drought there is no telling when you can get out of that, I did so today scored three goals and I think my confidence level went back up and I am looking forward to playing Tobago United next."

The burly striker is back on top of the scoring charts heading into another round of matches on Tuesday, and he felt that his tally could have been a lot more had he shown a lot more composure in front of goal against Police.

“I scored three goals, but I need to focus more on my composure in front of goal and try and take as many chances as I can, because that will tell in the long run if I am to get the Golden Boot.

Mc Farlane said they will not be taking Tobago United lightly and will be wary of the boys from the sister isle, who have played well in recent games, Mc Farlane said "We not going to take them lightly, because they have shown that they have the type of players that can come out and win, so we are not going there and feel that we can win easily, we want to go and feel like we are playing Jabloteh or Joe Public and try and dominate them as best as we could and try and score as much as we can.”

With Peter Byers failing to find the net on the weekend, Mc Farlane is once again atop the scoring charts, and he admits it is by no means a two-horse race for the Golden Boot, he said " Byers has had a rich vein of form recently but there are other strikers who are showing good form."

Mc Farlane has set himself a target of 21 goals this season and he added, "My target is 21 and if I fall short of that I will be disappointed."
