W. Connection FC fans will have to bear the suspense regarding their CONCACAF aspirations for just a little bit longer.
Connection won the first leg 3-1 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella on Easter Monday.
The eventual winners move on to the semi-final round, which will be staged on May 15 in Trinidad.
Haiti held their general elections on Saturday and Connection found it impossible to get a flight into the French-speaking island in time for their fixture, which was initially scheduled for yesterday evening.
"We notified (CONCACAF) of our difficulties in securing flights to meet the match fixture since the second week in April," said Connection marketing director Renee J Williams. "They tried to assist in the matter but it proved futile as all flights were fully booked for weeks."
Instead, Connection will fly out to the Dominican Republic early on Thursday morning and then travel across the border by bus. The Pro League outfit should have one training session before their crucial tie against Cavaly on Friday.
Connection coach Stuart Charles-Fevrier would hope their travel arrangements do not have an adverse effect on his team, who started the year brightly with 20 goals from their first three matches-two against Dominica's Bath Estate and the first leg to Cavaly.
Trinidad and Tobago international Andre Toussaint and his compatriot Hughtun Hector top Connection's scorers so far with four goals apiece.
Pro League rivals San Juan Jabloteh, who are sponsored by Blink for their Caribbean Football Union (CFU) adventure, would have discovered their own fate last night in Suriname.
Jabloteh, who won the last two successive Pro League crowns, headed to Suriname with a 2-1 first leg advantage over Inter Moengotapoe, although they were without head coach, Terry Fenwick, who declined to travel after going without pay since the end of the 2008 season. Jabloteh officials claimed they are still trying to secure a sponsor to cover Fenwick's wages.
Veteran striker Earl Jean, who joined Jabloteh from Connection last year, made his debut as player/ coach for the San Juan-based club in Suriname yesterday.
