T&T Strike Squad will re-unite to play a football team comprised of coaches from the T&T Pro League, as part of the Non-Government Organisation Is There Not a Cause, charity event entitled Football for a Cause.
The event will take place on December 5 at a-yet-to-be-determined venue under the patronage of former T&T national football team captain Angus Eve. This was announced at a press conference at the Media 21 Building in Port-of-Spain last week.
Admission for the game is a minimal contribution of $10 along with food and stuffed toys. All financial contributions from the event will go towards the purchase of a Transition House as well as ITNAC’s ongoing housing programmes and projects.
The food and toys will be collected and distributed locally. ITNAC is a registered non-profit, charitable organisation comprised of volunteer doctors, nurses, technicians, manual labourers, administrators, carpenters, masons and general helpers.
Founded in T&T in 2002, its mission is to “help people that have been confronted with challenging and unfortunate situations, to touch lives and where possible, help to empower such persons in the communities to bring transformation.”
It has focused heavily on work in Palo Seco where it has built three houses but it is also engaged in work in ten other countries. It has laid plans to purchase a property in Barataria, priced at $1.925 million, which will serve as a base, warehouse, guesthouse for visitors and a Transition House.
