Ex-Trinidad and Tobago international Jerol Forbes has been released with immediate effect from San Juan Jabloteh.

According to Jabloteh head coach Terry Fenwick the former T&T U17 World Cup player has not been in compliance with his contract.

“He (Forbes) has been unfit for the past 18 months,” said Fenwick. "And has not been giving his best in getting back to full fitness."

The 25 yearold who joined Jabloteh in August 2008 from United Petrotrin picked up the right knee injury early last year against Suriname’s Inter Moengotapoe in the second round of the Caribbean Football Union Club championship.

Jabloteh won that match 3-1 and advanced with a 5-2 aggregate before ending in third spot in the tournament with a 2-1 win over Tempéte.

But after medical examinations it was revealed that Forbes had bruised PFL (patella femoral ligament) along with cartilage and meniscus damage needing surgery.

He missed the entire 2009 TT Pro League season but was sent to Antiguan club Pahram late in the year to help with regaining his fitness. However since the injury Forbes never returned to powerful forward he was.

“We sent him to Antigua where he can keep fit while earning an extra dollar,” continued Fenwick. “He had special therapy and medical treatment courtesy Jabloteh.

Bottom line is that everyone is trying to help him, but himself. We recognized that he is a good forward and tried our best,” ended the disappointed Fenwick.
