San Juan Jabloteh Brazilian midfielder Ronaldo Viana has joined Antiguan club Parham FC on a six month contract—till the end of the 2010-2011 Digicel/Red Stripe Premier Division.
The 32 year old Viana joined Parham in early September after a mutual spilt with financially struggled Jabloteh.
Jabloteh head coach Terry Fenwick who signed the former W Connection midfielder in April of this year said, “He was on big wages and we needed to shed that.”
“But things are still good for Ronaldo. He is at a club where he can make himself some money.”
Viana last played for Jabloteh competitively in a 1-0 Lucozade Sport Goal Shield Final defeat against DIRECTV North East Stars at the Marvin Lee Stadium in August.
Prior to joining Jabloteh at the beginning of the 2010 season, Viana played with Triandada in the Goias League 1st Division back in Brazil in 2009 after leaving W Connection at the end of the 2008 season.
He also has playing experience in UEFA with Zinezniq of Serbia Montenegro and trials with MLS club Chicago Fire (2007) and Korean club Bosan Iparq (2009).
Fenwick said that he has a good relationship with Parham owner Asot Michael and have assisted the Antiguan club in the past with a couple players including former Jabloteh and United Petrotrin forward Jerel Forbes who had a brief stint while recovering from injury.
