National Under 17 goalkeeper Andre Charles has been on a second trial with Chelsea's youth team over the past few months but suffered a setback two weeks ago.
Charles, a Trinidad-born who has lived in the England since the age of six, suffered a broken leg while playing for his semi-pro club Burnham Ramblers last month and is sidelined for another six weeks.
He recently played for Chelsea' Under 17s and kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Fulham.
"Things have gone fine at Chelsea but I'm just waiting to get over this injury and back in the goal again," said Charles. "The coaches at the club said they just have to assess me over a few more games then they will what happens from there," he added. Charles lined up for T&T's Under 17 team during the Caribbean Football Union Under 17 World qualifying series last October, playing three games against Guyana, Bermuda and St Lucia.
