Trinidad and Tobago's Under-23 footballers left Jamaica yesterday headed for Florida, USA for a ten-day camp before travelling to Carson, California for the CONCACAF final round of Olympic Qualifying March 22-April 2.
After drawing 1-1 with the Jamaica Under-23s on Wedesday, T&T ended their four-day Jamaica camp with a 2-1 defeat on Friday night to Portmore United, runaway leaders of the Jamaica Premier League.
Tobagonian Trevin Caesar gave the visitors a 17th minute lead, but former Joe Public and Jamaica senior national striker Roen Nelson (picture right) had the rugged Portsmore United team level in the 27th minute.
The Jamaicans eventually woin the match on an Alonzo Adlam goal in the 64th minute.
The Trindad and Tobago team will be strengthened in Florida by the inclusion of five overseas-based players, including USA-based Kevin Molino, Kevan George and Sean De Silva.
They will play the Canada Under-23s in another warm-up match and possibly a couple of MLS teams as well.
