Valtrin closed the gap on leaders 1st FC Santa Rosa to one point at the top of the Emerald Apartment and Plaza Eastern Football Association Premier Division after a win by default over Prisons.
With the easy three points, Valtrin improved to 32 points from 15 matches, one behind Santa Rosa which needed a late goal to salvage a 1-1 draw with Malabar FC. Joe Public, three points off the top stayed in the title-race after a 3-1 spanking off Carib led by a double from Kareem Edwards.
At the end of round-18 matches, the league champion will join the other association winners in the five in the T&T Football Federation “Champion of Champions” competition from which two teams will qualify for the bmobile National Super League.
