LA Horquetta SA and Carib FC registered contrasting triumphs in the Eastern Football Association (EFA) over the weekend to enhance their positions on the nine-club Premiership Division standings.
At the La Horquetta Recreation Ground last Sunday, La Horquetta SA secured a comfortable 2-0 win over FC Maloney, while Carib FC had to come-from-behind to secure full points over a plucky Boss FC outfits via a 3-2 win, at the Morvant Recreation Ground on the same day.
Jellineau Gill netted a brace in the 26th and 68th minutes and Tennesse Ragoonath added the other item in the 71st for Carib to move one place up the standings to fourth-spot.
Earlier, Anthony Applewhite and Jovon Vincent netted in the 12th and 53rd minutes, respectively, to give Boss two leads at 1-0 and 2-1, before Ragoonath completed the come-back job for Carib with 19 minutes left in the encounter.
The setback saw Boss slipped from third-place to sixth in the standings. La Horquetta SA moved a spot upward into third on the back of their victory over neighbours FC Maloney.
Doing the business for the home side were Keron Clarke (21st) and Anslem Jackson (62nd). T&T Prisons maintained their five-point spread at the top of the First Division with an easy 2-0 win over La Horquetta XF.
Marlon Lawrence (36th) and Shevon Noriega (69th) got the items for Prisons. Athletico SL missed an opportunity to cut into the leader’s advantage after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Tunapuna Titans.
In the youth competitions, there were wins in the Eastern Conference Under-18 category for WASA FC, who whipped Joe Public 5-1 and Tunapuna Titans, who edged Dingle Boys 1-0.
In the same Conference, Malabar Young Stars stopped Blast 2-1, while La Horquetta XF won by the default from Fulham. And in the Western Conference, Joe Public FC secured a 3-1 success over Adrenaline FA, while Tunapuna Titans were 2-0 winners over Creek SCC.
