September means the start of the academic year and, by extension, the kick-off of the football coaching clinic of the Mohammed’s Electrical Coaching Academy (MECA).
Based at the Aranjuez Sports Club ground, the season gets underway on Sunday with the registration of all intended participants.
Officials will be at the club’s pavilion from 8.30 am to provide information to parents, guardians and students as to the requirements for involvement in the clinic, which will be conducted, as usual, on Sunday mornings.
Registration fee for the entire season, which runs until the end of the academic school term, early December, is $100.
This football exercise follows a highly successful cricket clinic over the first six months which catered for over 100 students.
While the football programme generally has a smaller attendance (55 were registered for 2011), the coaches associated with the exercise have continually praised the discipline, committment and dedication of boys and girls who sign up for MECA football in recent years.
There is every expectation from head coach Vernon “Sam” Sadaphal and his colleagues that the 2012 season will be similarly successful, whatever the challenges that come along.
