The 2016 Caribbean Welders Fishing Pond 9-a-side Football League will be officially declared open on June 25 at the Fishing Pond Recreation Ground with the customary march past of teams followed by the first match.
The winner of the group stage will get $1,000 plus the Raffie Morock Trophy.
Sponsor Peter Park of Caribbean Welders reiterated his company’s commitment to the tournament and the people of Fishing Pond. He noted that due to the decline in the economy, the first prize had to be reduced this year.
The registration fee is $2,500 per team which includes 13 players.
Registration forms are available at the Top of the Line Meat Mart in Sangre Grande.
