Maracas United Football Club (MUFC) Youth Academy hosted the Cooper’s Coerver Coaching Academy, at the Leotaud ground in Maracas, St Joseph, on February 11.
The academies engaged in fierce (but friendly) competition from the U6 to the U14 age groups. It was a great day of football, a great day of coaching and mentoring young players and most of all, it was a great day of fun.
Founder and chairman of MUFC Corey Selvon, said that his Youth Football Academy offers high-level football training and play to boys and girls ages four to 18 years.
Selvon iterated that at MUFC the focus is to develop young players to their highest potential in a positive environment that is both instructive and fun. Selvon concluded that MUFC provides every player the greatest opportunity to develop their football skills, discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork.
Head coach and founder of Cooper’s Coerver Coaching Academy Damian Cooper expressed gratitude to the management and staff of MUFC for being gracious hosts.
Cooper added that it is always a pleasure to compete against academies/ coaches who understand and share similar philosophies in terms of youth development in football.
Selvon, a recent graduate of the University of West Indies FIFA/CIES Graduate Diploma in Sports Management, thanked his family and close friends for assisting in getting his academy off the ground. Selvon also expressed gratitude to Ian R Briggs, founder and technical director of IRB Futbol Academy in Baltimore MD and Sean Rush and Douglas Pryor of Pipeline SC of Maryland.
