East Mucurapo earned the right to compete for Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Fruta Form One Under-13 National knockout title on Tuesday against southerners St Benedict's College at St Mary's College Ground, St Clair from 3:30 pm.
In the first semifinal match at the same venue on Saturday, East Mucurapo defeated Trinity College East 4-3 from the penalty spot after the scores were tied at 3-3 at the end of regulation time.
Sean Patterson fired East Mucurapo into the lead with a 21st-minute strike, but the celebration lasted just six minutes before Tarique Abdulla got the equalizer in the 27th minute. Trinity then took the advance for the first time in the 29th minute when Elijah Boucher found the nets for a 2-1 lead.
But East Mucurapo knotted up the scores for a second time in the fluctuating affair from Patterson in the 31st minute, a lead that lasted just 10 minutes after the half-time interval, before Keslon Pierre gave Trinity the lead 3-2 in the 40th minute.
And just when the game seem heading for a win for the easterners, Malik Jarvis fired in the equalizer for East Mucurapo in the 51st minute to send the game to the penalty mark to be settled. Isaiah Thomas, Nieem Taylor, Jadon Mc Shine and Aaron Andrews were the scorers from the spot for East Mucurapo while Deisean Plaza, Dexter Croal and Elijah Williams found the nets for the Trinity East boys.
Meanwhile, Trinity College rebounded in the Boys under-16 knock-out final by beating San Juan North 3-1 at El Dorado West Secondary Ground on Saturday afternoon. Aydan Williams led the way for the easterners with a brace in the 45th and 80th minute while Jemaul Ashing scored the other in the 35th.
San Juan's lone item came off the boot of Israel Joseph in the 40th minute.
