Alcons Soccer Academy’s fortieth anniversary will coincide with the organisation’s expansion programme, which opens doors for young children in different parts of the country.

Already, a series of educational sessions have started at the St Joseph recreation ground every Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, where the kids are under the eyes of trained coaches.

Alvin Corneal, the founder of the Academy and a Fifa coaching instructor, heads many of the country’s potential stars of the future, who are benefiting from the knowledge being shared by a number of former national team stars who are all qualified coaches.

The expansion sessions will commence in the North at the Hasely Crawford training ground on March 13, from 3 pm, together with another opening in Chaguanas on the same date and time. Conformation of the venue will be relayed to students in due course.

The Academy has received invitations to travel to Columbia, Panama and Cleveland Ohio, during the year and teams are expected to be well prepared for these tours. The management of the Academy welcome all new members to any of the venues.

Registration is available either on line at alconssa@yahoo.com or telephone 714-3141, 683-2170 and 320 7144.

An exciting year is anticipated for the Academy, which includes a dinner for the former members and current friends of the Alcons.
