Kareem Simon, top scorer for 2009 in the Churches Football League was voted was named First Division Most Valuable Player for 2009 when the Churches Football League held their prize-giving function last month at the multipurpose hall of the Curepe Pentecostal Empowerment Ministries International Church.

Simon, scored 21 goals while playing for West End Pentecostal last season and won the Golden Boot award and also led his team to the runners-up position in the First Division behind promoted champions Reformation Life Centre.

Meanwhile, in the Premier League, Kareem Perry won the Golden Boot by scoring 15 goals which led Global Encounter Ministries to the league title.

But, it was Joel Jessop of Woodbrook AIC who was named Most Valuable Player in the Premier Division.

Meanwhile, it was announced that the 2010 season of the Churches Football League will open with a church service on June 10 at El Dorado Pentecostal Church.

And on June 12, a massive all-day round-robin with all teams and one or two invited sides from Tobago will take place at Aranjuez.
