QUEEN’S PARK were held to a 1-1 draw by Cap Off Youths, in Group ‘B’ of the Under-18 Division, as the National Youth Foot League continued last Saturday.
With the result, the Parkites consolidated first place in the group, ahead of Mayaro Spurs and WASA, who are both on 10 points.
Dale Cadogan put Cap Off in front after 42 minutes but Russ Dowden equalised in the 60th.
WASA fought back to hold 1976 FC Phoenix to a 2-2 draw — Arnold Hackshaw (58th) and Dillon McCarthy (83rd) were the goal-getters for WASA while Valdez Perez (40th) and Daryl Trim (68th) scored for Phoenix.
Ahkeel Toussaint and Anthony Springer got their names on the scoresheet as Queen’s Park whipped Cap Off Youths to remain atop the standings in Group “B” of the Under-16 Division.
Toussaint scored in the eighth minute and Springer in the 36th as the Parkites sealed their fourth win in the group.
1st FC Santa Rosa, who entered the day in first place, slipped to second following a 1-1 draw with 1976 FC Phoenix. Zachary Martin gave Santa Rosa a 35th minute advantage but Shaquille McLetchie knotted up the scores in the 76th.
Club Sando moved to the top of the Under-14 Division after a 9-0 mauling of Point Fortin Civic Centre.
Mitra Arjoon netted a beaver-trick (39th, 43rd, 48th and 60th), while Merkese De Gannes (26th and 67th) and Akuansa Rawlins (30th and 37th) chipped in with one apiece. J’deem Parris began the goal avalanche, in the 24th.
Queen’s Park came from two goals down to earn a share of the points, courtesy a 2-2 draw with Cap Off Youths.
Antonio Jeffrey (10th) and Tyril Jagna (20th) put Cap Off Youths in the ascendancy but the Parkites responded with a double from Sebastien Cabral (22nd and 64th).
Another game which ended locked at 2-2 was the 1st FC Santa Rosa- 1976 FC Phoenix battle.
Khyle Solomon put Phoenix ahead in the sixth minute but Kyle Reyes equalised in the 18th. Andel Francis restored Phoenix’s lead four minutes later but Santa Rosa will ensure a draw with a 57th minute item from Jamal Lewis.
