Adrenalize triumphed over Rum Boys Krew (Rbk) 2-1 in a sudden death penalty shoot-out to win the Indar Invitational Football Competition last week.
Both teams remained deadlocked after 30 minutes of regulation time and ten minutes of extra time. Although losing, Rbk, which hit the upright twice, dominated the final, but failed to take its chances.
After three kicks each, both teams were locked 1-1 with goals from Sunil Narinesingh for Rbk and Nigel Lakhan for Adrenalize.
Defender Anand Singh sealed the game for Adrenalize after Rbk missed its fourth kick. Lakhan was later adjudged Most Valuable Player, while Rbk’s Amrit Ramdhanie was awarded with the Best Goal prize after scoring a thunderous bullet from ten yards.
