ST JOHN’S United grabbed an 87th minute equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw with Real Maracas in their Emerald Apartments & Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association FA Trophy quareter-final.
But they were eventually kicked out of the tournament 4-2 on penalties.
Handell Manswell gave the Maracas men the lead in the eighth minute but Aaron Peters equalised for St John’s in the 29th.
Shane Glasgow restored the Maracas lead in the 73rd before Marlon Martin got that 87th minute equaliser.
Boss FC also kicked out Maloney 5-4 on penalties after the teams drew 1-1 at the end of regulation.
Kareem Perry put Maloney ahead in the 39th minute but Arnold Hackshaw equalised in the 57th.
Malabar FC shut out Athletico Sports Institute 3-0 on goals by Keron Edwards in the 24th minute, Michael Hospedales in the 40th and David Power 79th.
And 1st FC Santa Rosa edged La Horquetta XF 3-2 after falling a goal behind in the 21st minute by Kern Robinson who scored a double.
Christopher Young fired in the equaliser in the 24th minute and Kernater Morris put them ahead in the 40th and Robert Alexis extended the lead in the 57th before Robinson got his 62nd minute double.
Now Real Maracas play Boss FC at Maracas and 1st FC Santa Rosa meet Malabar FC at the ECIAF ground in semi-final action on August 24.
The final in the series is scheduled for August 28 timed to begin at 3 pm.
