TTEC continued to dominate Group “B” of the SIS Football League as they trounced NEC 6-0 on Monday. NEC playing without their two top goal-scorers, Rudy Garcia and Kerwin Colley, struggled against a very impressive TTEC team.
TTEC’s Damion Charles continued his prolific scoring in the league as he netted three goals and NEC had no reply as they recorded their first defeat of the tournament.
TTEC now stand atop Group “B” with a maximum 12 points from four matches. In the day’s other encounter defending champs NGC, who has been struggling in the tournament this year, fancied their chances as they came up against cellar placed Shell (Trinidad) Ltd in Group “B”.
NGC took full advantage as they opened their scoring as early as the fifth minute and the goals never stopped. Shae Bethel netted seven goals and Khell Ferrier scored twice as NGC demolished Shell 9-0.
Last Friday, SIS finally recorded their first victory with a 3-0 thumping of Phoenix Gas. SIS got two goals from struggling forward Akeem Wilkinson.
That victory meant that SIS was no longer in cellar place on the table as they look forward to their final group stage match tomorrow against Plipdeco.
In the other matches, Industrial Gases continued their surprising run of form as they easily overcame last year’s fourth place team PCS Nitrogen2-0.
Over at Yara Ground in Savonetta, home team Yara battled with Plipdeco in a hard fought encounter. Plipdeco’s inability to control the midfield allowed Yara to keep the majority of the possession and earned a well deserved victory 2-0.
