A double from Adrian Emanuel helped Eagles United advance to the Central Football Association (FA) final with a come from behind 3–2 win over Couva Sports in their semifinal match at the Couva Recreation ground on Tuesday. Eagles will now face Caroni Connection in the Ramsingh Sports World sponsored final, after the latter hammered St Mary’s 8–1 in their semifinal.

It was the home team that drew first blood, as it took the lead through Jason Mills, who netted the first of a double in the 13th minute. However, Eagles mounted up and grabbed the equaliser compliments of a Ronald Whisky strike in the 21st minute. Five minutes later, Emanuel scored the first of his two goals to give Eagles a 2–1 advantage, however, Couva levelled the score in the 36th minute when Mills found the net for the second time.

The scoreline remained unchanged until the 72nd minute when Emanuel got his double and the eventual match winner. In the other match, Malcom Nedd and Steven Joseph netted two each, while Akil London, Vaughn Goodridge, Kellon Alexander and Jerome Travis scored once as Connection outplayed St Mary’s in their semifinal match. St Mary’s consolation goal came from Andy Garcia.
