Super Industrial Services Limited (SIS) defeated Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL) 4-2, to capture the $10,000 first prize, in the SIS Industrial Football League, held at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva recently.

SIS captured the title for the second time, as they got the better of the National Gas Company (NGC) in 2008.

SIS asserted their authority, as Kefim Blackford, opened the scoring in the opening minutes of the game. Tyrell Gabriel would go on to further the difference, and put SIS 2-0 ahead, at the end of the first half.

The second half brought a more focused TCL team, as they were able to level the scores 2-2. But further goals from Blackford and Gabriel, ended any chance TCL had of staging a comeback. Blackford and Gabriel ended their tournament with six and five goals respectively.

The third place playoff saw last year’s defending champions NGC overpower Industrial Gases Limited (IGL) 4-2. Khairon George and Mark Defreitas netted for IGL, while NGC got goals from Shae Bethel (2), Dale Baxter and goalkeeper, Ronnie Kantasingh, who came out late in the game to score NGC”s fourth goal.
