WASA are the new holders of the Emerald Apartments & Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association League Cup.
A late goal by ex-Strike Squad utility player Marvin Faustin gave the Wasa men the trophy and $4,500 prize money.
Faustin scored in the 86th minute to win it for WASA who beat Real Maracas 1-0 in Sunday’s match.
But WASA should have scored in the 57th minute when they were awarded a penalty.
Skipper Anslem Lashley stepped up to take the kick but shot wide.
Real Maracas should have taken the lead in the 41st minute but Curt Danclair from inside the penalty area blasted his shot wide of the mark.
Action in the Emerald Apartments & Plaza Cup continues today with four matches.
First FC Santa Rosa take on Malabar FC at the Larry Gomes training ground, then FC Maloney meet Athletico Sports Institute at the Maloney ground, Upper Santa Cruz play Prisons at the Arnold Dwarika ground and Carib FC tangle with St John’s United at St Augustine Senior Secondary ground.
Kick-off is 4 pm in all matches.
