MICHAEL HOSPEDALES and Hayden de Verteuil, two of Malabar FC’s key players, have transferred into FC Santa Rosa ahead of the 2011/2012 football season.
The 23-year-old Hospedales is no stranger to Santa Rosa, and is returning home after having played youth football with Santa Rosa at the Under-13 and Under-15 levels.
His fellow striker, 20-year-old de Verteuil, has acted on his stated intention to join the Big Cannons at the end of the 2010 season.
FC Santa Rosa is currently seeking the financial backing for entry into the 2011/2012 TT Pro League, which begins in August.
In related news, Super League champions TTEC has been accepted into the League’s fold while Santa Rosa, St Clair’s Coaching School and Queen’s Park have been afforded extensions to fulfill financial requirements.
The Pro League’s Board of Directors has accepted TTEC as the 2011-2012 season after the winners of the 2010 Super League and Knockout titles met the Pro League’s financial criteria. Pro League CEO Dexter Skeene said, “The League considers it an asset to have TTEC join its ranks.
“They have been involved in youths over the years and the management seems committed to the development of professional sports and players.
“It is a pleasure to welcome them into the TT Pro League fold and we wish them the best.”
Skeene explained that the League continues to work with interested clubs to assist in the transition to professional football.
The Pro League CEO said that the board has given extensions to Santa Rosa, St Clair’s Coaching School and Queen’s Park in which time they must fulfill financial as well as administration requirements.
TTEC will line up among 2010/2011 champs Defence Force, Caledonia AIA, Joe Public, W Connection, Ma Pau, San Juan Jabloteh, North East Stars, St Ann’s Rangers, FC South End and Police in the forthcoming season.
