Kyle Cowie netted a late item for Trincity Nationals to stage a gallant come-from-behind effort to share the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw with Eddie Hart Football League Group C rivals Madrid United at the Eddie Hart Savannah in Tacarigua last Thursday.
And on Friday, Bon Air FC lost their first-ever opening game in league action when they were pipped 2-1 by a gutsy Dingle Boys outfit.
K Riley missed a golden opportunity to rescue a point for the boys in yellow and blue when he kicked wide of the left upright with the clock ticking down.
Riley chose to go for power instead of placement with the advancing Dingle Boys goalkeeper at his mercy.
Dingle Boys had held a well deserved 1-0 lead at the end of the half, but on the resumption, Bon Air quickly levelled the contest through N Campbell.
The winners then restored their one-goal advantage mid-way into the session.
Regan Castle and Bryan Nelson were the marksmen for Dingle Boys, who are late entrants to the EHFL.
Earlier on, in what could be considered the best game of the 2011 season to date, Cowie rose above the opponents' defence to perfectly place a glancing header past the bewildered Madrid custodian to deprive them of full points.
After trailing by a 2-0 deficit deep into the second session of a very competitive affair between two youthful teams, Claude Brusco started the come back trail for Trincity Nationals.
This was after his powerful right footer from the top of the 18-yard box deflected off a defender past the stranded Madrid keeper.
Hard-working Cowie then completed the job with his well-taken effort from a right side corner, with fewer than ten minutes to go.
Last week Monday, defending EHFL champions Paradise FC scraped an unimpressive 2-0 triumph over Penetrators.
Christian Thomas had both goals for the champs, who made it two-from-two in their title defence.
In another game played last week, Petit Bourg Youths and El Do Milan played to a 2-2 draw in Group A on Wednesday.
Nathan Patterson registered a brace for the Petit Bourg team, while Kion Charles and Dion Nurse replied for Milan.
It was the second tied game for Milan in as many affairs, following a goalless match-up with Tunapuna Slappers, while it was Petit Bourg's first point, following a 4-1 setback against champs Paradise.
Former champs Parliament suffered their second straight defeat of the season via a 3-0 loss to Pacemakers, who made it two-from-two in Group B.
Five-time title-holders Parliament, who last won the crown in 2008, missed out on three clear-cut one-on-ones and other good opportunities to net before their opponents had done so.
Parliament then lived to regret their misses as Shaquille Nesbitt, Marcus Chandool and Kevin Thomas netted for Pacemakers in the second-half to secure the three points.
