Former national Under-17 captain, Duane Muckette fired in a hat-trick as FC Santa Rosa crushed Biche United 7-3 in the late match in the blink/bmobile National Super League at University of T&T Ground, O’Meara on Sunday night.

Muckette scored in the 17th and 28th minute for Santa Rosa, while Keston Henry (24th) and Eon Alleyne (33rd) added one each in the first-half for the Eastern Football Association club to lead 4-0 at the interval. Andrew Durant (51st), Vurlon Mills (79th) and Muckette again, on the stroke of full-time, added second-half items.

For Biche, Maurice Billy got a late double in the 87th and 90th after Santa Rosa had conceded an own goal on the hour mark. With the win, Santa Rosa climbed three spots up to sixth with 19 points from 15 matches, nine adrift of leaders WASA FC while Biche stayed in cellar-spot with 11 points.

In Sunday’s early matches, the top two teams WASA and Joe Public were held to draws while third placed Westside Superstarz slipped to a defeat on the road.

At WASA Ground, St Joseph, the host took a 41st minute lead through Keron Smith but 20 minutes into the second-half Sean Leoung-Tat earned a share of the points for visitors Siparia Spurs.

Up at the Maracas Recreation Ground, St Joseph, visiting Joe Public needed 90th minute item from Keston Bibby-Cumming to secure a 2-2 draw with Real Maracas.

In fact the host held a comfortable 2-0 lead through goals from Michael Alexis in the 20th minute and Pernell Schultz six minutes into the second half, only for former national striker Andre Toussaint to cut the lead in half in the 71st minute before Bibby-Cumming last minute heroics.

Over in Tobago, third placed Superstarz failed to make up any ground as they went under to fourth placed 1976 Phoenix 1-0 with Delroy Fraser’s 76th goal the difference at Canaan Ground, Bon Accord to push his team to 23 points from 15 matches, the same as fellow Tobago-club, Stokely Vale which got a 90th minute item from Tyronne Manning to edge Club Sando 3-2 after it trailed 2-0 at the half at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.

In the other early match, Eagles and Defence Force drew 0-0 at Home Land Gardens, Chaguanas while newly-promoted teams, Santa Rosa and Biche United faced off in the late match at UTT Ground, O’Meara.
